The main reason that I purchased this collar (and 4 cat collars for our cats) was to control ticks. We put this collar on our dog on April 30, 2016. We pulled off the two ticks we found on him that day as well. The week prior to that, we also treated the outdoor premises with tick granules for the second time this season. Now he has 10-20 ticks a week!!! The collar is supposed to be effective for 7-8 months, and it has only been one month! When we pull them off, the ticks are very well attached, have been feeding well, and are extremely lively! I am not sure if the collar's lack of effectiveness is just because I purchased the product online and not from a veterinarian, or if Seresto is just another product that does not live up to it's too-good-to-be-true claims. As a side note, I have not seen any fleas, but I bought the product primarily for the tick control claims. I have had to go back to applying our former product, Frontline Plus to control the ticks. This purchase was a very expensive mistake for us.
