Utter disappointment (Update: Undocumented limitation)
***UPDATE*** Undocumented limitation: DON'T BUY IF YOU HAVE RUGS OR CARPETS WITH LONG SHAG After spending over a month with iRobot support giving me the run around, they finally gave me the answer to what's going on, without giving me a resolution. It turns out the i7 can only handle carpets or rugs with up to 5/8 inch shag. If your shag is greater than that, don't waste your money. Unfortunately, even though they admitted there was no way for me to know this until after I purchased the device, they refused to take it back and refund me for my expense. So I'm stuck with a very expensive vacuum that won't even clean my living room floor. I've had my i7 for less than 6 months. In that time: - I discovered the mapping doesn't work as advertised. Roomba says it drove through walls and I had to use "virtual walls" in order to actually build out my rooms so I could properly schedule. - I have had a few problems with it running. Within 4 months of receiving it, I consistently had issues with it not completing jobs, saying it was stuck when nothing was stuck in it or other such things. Support has not been helpful. They give me the run around (as they did with the mapping failure) or they don't actually solve the problem. My latest problem was constant "debris extractors stuck" errors, even when there was nothing in the debris extractors. They ensured me the problem was that I needed new debris extractors. When new debris extractors didn't fix the problem, they ensured me the problem had to be the cleaning head module. A new cleaning head module also didn't fix the problem. This is my third Roomba and, at this point, I don't know why I would ever consider getting a fourth. It's been an utter disappointment from day one and, at less than 6 months old, hasn't been capable of finishing cleaning my living room for a good month now.
