Either I'm the unluckiest person in the world or most buyers of this monitor simply don't care about horrible backlight uniformity across the screen. I expect "hotspots" in the corners and generally imperfect blacks, but the two monitors I've received so far are unacceptably bad for a product >$600. It's a shame because otherwise the display seems to be as advertised, very sharp picture quality with great motion handling. I just can't view any scene that's even a little dark and not notice the horrible splotches of flashlighting. I haven't quite decided what I'm going to do with the second one, but I know I can't keep it either. Edit: I added a third picture where I turned the brightness way down, stepped back a few feet, and took a picture of it next to another IPS monitor that's over 10 years old.
