Strange Packaging
The package I received was not as shown on Amazon and is not legal for resale in the U.S. as I received it. Aside from a UPC barcode there is no product information of any kind on the package (not even how many people for whom the product is supposed last for "72 hours"). No nutritional information, no ingredients, no serving information, no date stamp... It's the latter that is the worst offense. I've been maintaining family distaster kits since the 70's and I've never encountered a survival food product that had no easilly seen date information on the primary package. 25 years from when? The package is just a vague ad about how the manufacturers like freedom and American flags and stuff appropriate for political rallies. Do the items inside have the product details? Probably. Beside the point, anyway. I should be able to easilly identify when the whole package needs to be rotated out of stock and the government (even the government in Utah) has requirements for package for resale that this resold item ignores. As for the quality of the contents, I'll find out if/when we have a disaster but until then this package will be burried under other survival products that at least tell whether the contents include rice or rat poison.
