Hey Folks, I normally write favorable reviews and on rare occasions must review a poor product and this is one of those... I have used ToTo Products for over 30 plus years and I must say that across the board ToTo has moved from a solid 5 Star company to El Cheep-O without regard for it's long term customer base!! My original ToTo seat that this one now replaces lasted about 25 years, was well made and proved it by it's long use. This seat lacks quality, poor engineering and the hinge system is sloppy and can not be adjusted to stop the seat from slipping around on the ToTo toilet rim providing a very uncertain insecure feeling, not good at all and could be classified as unsafe for children and the elderly. Secondly, the mounting hardware is not usable and helps to contribute to additional looseness. So to solve that problem I purchased one of ToTo's only 5 Star products made today and that is the ToTo THU651N Top Mounting Seat Mounting Hardware Set for $9.00 here on Amazon. I highly recommend throwing the plastic nuts & plastic bolts in the trash and using only the THU651N to mount this seat. I do not think this SS114 01 ToTo Toilet Seat will last and I will be looking for a better made and safer seat by another manufacturer. The only good thing I can say is that it is comfortable when not slipping all around on the rim of the toilet. If I were you today, I would pass on this one and do more research for a better product, as I am right now!
