I’ve had this unit for a few months. I also have an older model I bought a couple of years ago. I live in an area where the weather changes a lot. Literally warm one day and freezing the next, if not sooner. The unit is pleasant to look at and displays well in a brightly lit room. The battery back up works great and the forecast is usually on target. All that said, the temperature accuracy is pathetic. Both old and new units use the same sensor technology, and frankly I think that is the problem. The old sensor always read 7-10 degrees too high regardless of hot or cold weather. The sensor that came with this new unit seems to match a spare digital thermometer I keep around, and the National Weather Service, when the temperature is below freezing. However, it reads around 10 degrees too high when it warms up. Makes it pretty risky to decide coat or jacket on some days. All in all I’d give it an extra half star if I could, but rounding down to two. People have been making thermometers for a long time. I can overlook a degree or two. Not 10. No excuse for that.
