Before buying any bed riser, read this first!
Bed risers either work or they don't so in my opinion they either get 1 or 5 stars. There are two things that are a must for them to work. 1) They must be strong enough to hold the weight of the bed, plus you! 2) The recess of the riser must accommodate the size of the foot of your frame. Many reviews suggest that these risers are cheaply made and break easily. I can't say for sure but they are heavier duty than the risers I was replacing and have used for many years. Perhaps the design has changed, but I was pleased by their heft and thickness of the plastic. Also, they have reinforced ribs directly under the platform. If you have wheels as feet, I would consider, replacing them with flat feet which will disperse the weight of the bed across the riser better and help reduce the chance that the riser platform supporting the weight will break. The other thing to be sure of is that you buy a riser for each foot. Some king size beds have 6 feet. Four on the corners and two mid-frame to support the larger span of a king size bed. If you only buy one box of four, you take a chance on either bending your bed frame, or cracking the riser, as you will be distributing the weight across only 4 feet instead of all 6 feet. I ranked this a one star because of the other "criteria". These did not accommodate the size of the feet on my bed frame. Granted, these would be plenty big for many beds. However, the product description clearly states that the opening for these risers is 3"x3". I ensured that this was the case, because my frame feet are exactly 3" and most risers are not big enough to accommodate that size. After cleaning out under the bed and lifting the king size bed while my wife and daughter placed the risers, I set the bed down, only for them to NOT FIT!! After measuring, my suspicion was confirmed. The advertised 3"x3" opening is 2 7/8"x2 7/8". The 1/8" matters, because if the foot doesn't sit flat, the foot of the frame will bend and break. I have no problem with the fact that the opening is smaller than 3x3 except that this product is not as advertised!!
