Great product but, test your ants. See below.
UPDATE:
Have not seen one single ant in my house since my last post. A good product for killing these sweet loving ants.
ORIGINAL POST:
Before buying this I started with a little sugar and boric acid (8 to 1) mix on the floor to find out if "my" ants were after sweets or fat and where the trail led to so I could place the bait close to their entry point. They went after the sugar so I bought the Terro.
These ants are in the sweet eating phase and they just swarmed this stuff for about 5 days. After that, there seemed to be fewer and fewer until after about 2 weeks they were all gone. If you have, or think you have, a large colony be sure to get plenty and keep it fresh. I started with one pack but, added a second a couple days later and a third about 3 days after that so they had plenty of fresh goo.
Someone said "...this stuff is very sticky..." and, I can attest to that! I put it on a piece of aluminum foil with one edge held down with painter's tape so they had easy access and I had easy clean up. The Terro did the rest. I haven't seen an ant on my kitchen sink for well over three weeks and, living in, currently very hot, Southern California, which is one giant ant hill, at a time when they seem to like to come in looking for water and cool air, that's wonderful.
I know; this is going to really affect my Karma and I will probably be reincarnated as an ant. Also, my wife gives me sideways glances because of that sinister little laugh but, I just hate these little buggers for some reason and absolutely enjoy destroying large populations of them. Does that make me a bad person?
