I just ran this last night between the cable modem and our router. Previously we had cat 5e wire in that run and the fastest our internet could go was 94 Mbps on it's best day. With this single change, that is now 150 Mbps. It's definitely worth it. Keep in mind, the other parts of your internet have to be up to the faster speeds, but in our case both the cable modem and the router are capable up much faster rates. Only the cables (and our incoming speed) were limiting us.
