Which one is the matching refill?
I was excited when these pens arrived and had to grab a sketchbook and check them out. I love these pens; the flow is smooth, no clogging or leaking, super assortment of colors, comfort grip and a great sturdy case. To top it off, refills also!
As I looked at the bag of refills and then checked the pens, I saw no markings that paired them. Again, I looked at the refills and saw several greens, which in the barrel looked a lot alike, the same with a group of purples and so on. I took a few refills from the bag and looked everywhere for a marking... nothing. I checked the pens and nothing on them. With so many barrels and so many groups looking too much alike, I thought it was going to be a lot of work and a huge pain to match them. I also knew I better do the work before I started a project that would require a refill to finish. Before I started I looked at the 'product questions' to see if anyone had asked about this...no. So I asked if there was a trick to matching them and then went to work making swatches to match. A couple answers about swatches came before 'Mary' sent what I needed. The barrels of the refills are embossed with a number that corresponds with a number embossed on the bottom side of the pen cap. You (I) can't see the numbers but I can feel them. With the help of a magnifying glass, it will be an easy job to match them up. Personally I wish the company had prevented all this by including this info, but, at least they are marked. Now I will definitely repurchase these. I've included pics of the hiding (embossed) numbers. I hope this helps someone before they start swatches to match things.
