My wife & I love this speaker, and I'd give it 5 stars except for one issue. The first speaker they shipped worked once, then wouldn't turn on again. DOSS customer service immediately offered a free replacement. Later we discovered that the problem might have been corrected by using the reset button on the back, which is strangely located inside the aux port. But we just went ahead and exchanged it, and haven't had any problems with the new speaker. Pros: Loud volume for its size Good, balanced sound quality; Stereo sound Decent bass; although it doesn't dig deep, the bass lines are full and present Feels sturdy and well built Looks sharp (we got the black one) Touch interface has "cool factor" Play/pause, skip & rewind buttons The ring changes color and blinks to indicate bluetooth pairing and input type Voice announces bluetooth pairing and low battery Good bluetooth range Bluetooth 4.0 provides clear sound quality Battery lasts a long time between charging Good customer service from DOSS Cons: Changing volume with the touch wheel can be a little awkward and inaccurate Built-in voice has a thick accent and is difficult to understand Not waterproof, although it includes a waterproof travel bag Gets confusing when we have a few phones/tablets paired to it, we have to disconnect them to pair it to the correct device Distorts slightly at the highest volume, seems like it might blow the speaker (I never use it that loud anyway) The first speaker malfunctioned Sound quality: The sound is warm, round, even and balanced. It doesn't sound tinny or try to push too much treble for crispness. The bass is surprisingly good; although it doesn't dig deep, the basslines are full and audible. I found that positioning the speaker in front of a wall enhances the bass. Not sure if it's ported in the back or just gets help from the reflections. Overall we're very happy with this purchase and use it constantly.
