It does shed a little, but that's to be expected from a real cut material such as soft leatherhide. It's about bulky and doesn't lie flat, but I'll be clipping it open so I don't mind that. This being how well priced it is for something with lined pages makes me happy even with it's flaws, the smell is great and definitely natural and not chemic. The cover is soft and the scratches go away with a little bit of rubbing and some water. I'll definitely be keeping and using this for a long time coming.
