Way, way too firm...
I'm a side sleeper, and the mattress started far too firm for me (extremely, very firm).
When I first got it I kept moving around all night, and when I woke up one of my limbs would always asleep, and my back would ache all day, and I would be exhausted because I didn't sleep well at all.
I'm not overweight and I never had back problems before, so it sucked.
HOWEVER,
When I contacted Lull to return it, they offered to send me a mattress topper to soften it up for me.
The topper is just a square, bare chunk of gel memory foam... It helps, but only so much (just seems pretty cheesy).
On top of that, I just found out that foam mattresses soften over time with use, so most of them start a bit too firm intentionally.
For the last couple days I've been walking and bouncing all over it, which has helped.
At the moment, with the topper and the workout I've given it, it's about a medium firmness.
It's now just slightly too firm for my liking, but I'm sleeping fine and don't have the aches and such, and I'll probably keep it. Still got about 70 days to decide.
All that being said, it doesn't smell like chemicals and didn't need time to air out, it completely expanded in just a couple minutes (I had to scramble to move some stuff out of the way), it doesn't transfer motion, and it doesn't retain heat like the cheap foam mattresses do.
If you like firm mattresses, this is a very good one for a reasonable price, and their customer service is pretty amazing.
And if you buy it directly from the company they give you 100 days to try it, and will send a courier to pick it up for free if you don't like it (so you don't need to squeeze it back into the box or anything).
