Ignore the provided instructions for the rotisserie.
Okay so my hubby bought this for me at Walmart and after reading reviews on the rotisserie part, I wanted to post my experience. First off ignore the rotisserie instructions that are provided. They're pretty useless in my experience. I first inserted the rotisserie scewer and then tied the legs and wings up so they didn't fall and hit the heating element at the bottom of the oven. Then I lathered the chicken in olive oil and sprinkled it with spices. I used garlic and onion powder, salt, pepper, parsley, paprika and turmeric. It had amazing flavor.
So the instructions that come with the oven say to cook a 4.5lb - 5lb chicken for 45-90min at 350° and it was still raw in the center. By the time it was cooked through it was dry. So the second time I used the rotisserie, I ignored their provided instructions and decided I'd use my instincts. I cranked the heat up to 400° for 30 minutes and then dropped the temp down to 350° for another 30 minutes. This gave it a crispy outside and extremely moist chicken. Hope this helps others who had the same issue using their rotisserie.
