I prefer this over a traditional ladder. The steps make it easy for the young and the old to get in and out of the pool! I bought this and the weight system you can add to the sides of it to hold it down so the steps won't float up! As far as the steps go, they are great, the problem was that it did float up. We did not want to fill it with sand because as other reviewers stated, it makes it nearly impossible to get it out of the pool when it's weighted down with sand! We let the water from the pool fill it up, it still floated up. We filled the side weights with sand, attached them and it still floated up. We had to purchase 2 10 pound dumbbell rubber hand weights from Walmart and zip tie them to the sides of the steps along with the Easy Weight system, and that did the trick. I give these steps 5 stars because of the ease of getting in and out of the pool and they seem to be well made. I have some large 270+ pound men in my family, and the steps can handle all of that weight with ease!
