Update to review: Excellent customer service, company sent me a perfect unit.
UPDATE: Meadowlark contacted me and sent me a third unit. This one is perfect. The buckles are attached correctly, and the pups are now contained in the back seat in the car where they can't make a huge mess. After a few days of carting muddy, wet dogs around, I removed the seat cover and found no mess on my seats. Seems like it is, in fact, waterproof. Customer service was quite excellent, and I would be happy to do business with Meadowlark again. Upon seeing my review, they immediately sent me a new unit. They also informed me that they changed manufacturing methods at the factory to prevent my issue in the future. Original post: I want to love this product. Honestly, the design is excellent and it contains dogs in the back seat where they can't shed on the seats and make a mess. Here's the problem: I received two products with a massive defect. There's a glue that attaches the straps to the clips/buckles. This is critical, because the straps and clips are what attaches the hammock to your car. In both units, the glue immediately came off and the clips fell off, rendering the product as useful as a large tarp. I contacted the seller/manufacturer, and received a replacement. The replacement unit had the same problem. I sewed the straps to the clips, and now things work. However, this is a ridiculous defect for a $50 product. The manufacturer, to their credit, has excellent customer service. But they sent me two units with inoperable attachment mechanisms. Tl;dr: good design, came with defects. Twice. Had to repair myself with sewing kit.
