Great set for the money!
I've been playing badminton on the recreational level for many years, and some in college. I like the sport a lot, and I like good equipment too. I was looking to buy a quality badminton set that would allow for years of use, but I didn't want to spend a fortune either. This set actually has pretty decent rackets compared to a lot of other sets. Granted, they are not $150 pro rackets, but I haven't ever gotten the birdie "stuck" in any of the rackets yet and there is enough string tension in them to accomplish some fast spikes. I bought a couple extra Yonex rackets expecting that I would need them to replace this set's rackets as they wore out and broke. So far I have not needed them, and I've played many games with friends! If you are worried about a droopy net, fret not! There are two 3/8 inch ropes that attach to the top of each of the aluminum poles and are individually staked into the ground to set the net tension. I've had my net so tight there may have been a 1/2 inch difference between the center of the net and where it attaches to the pole. The birdies that come with the set are white and they work pretty well. They are not the best that I've played with, but they are durable and last for quite a while. Their white color makes them harder to see than the bright yellow/green that I'm used to playing with. If you don't like them, buy some quality birdies, they are not that expensive. The whole set comes in a zip-up black bag and everything fits inside just fine. I'm very glad that they chose to include this as it makes transporting the set very easy. Overall, I'm very happy with this set. The poles and net are very solid and will last for many years. If you are a VERY aggressive player you may want to buy a separate high quality racket. As for me, the rackets have held up with what I've asked them to do and I'm no slouch when it comes to hitting. I purchased some spare birdies for my set, but I'm still using the ones that came with the set originally. So if you can swing the money for this set and want something that will serve players of all types for years to come, go ahead and get this set!
