I bought the 4 step stairs and looks exactly as pictured. Our bed is king sized with an elevated frame and box spring making the height about 26" with the mattress. The inside is a firm foam and cover is soft and made well - does not look cheap and fits our decor. Bottom 2 steps were assembled in the cover and top 2 steps you stack and zip indiviually. Excellent packaging as well - (double boxed by Amazon) . No weird smell
