Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

This is a great tablet port of the full Trainz railroad simulator. I was amazed at how much they were able to carry over from the full game, including the 'surveyor' track building tool. It is a great 'on-the-go' version of the game for airplane trips, lounging around, etc. Ignore the negative reviews that say the game is buggy or doesn't work. It works fine if you have the correct processor in your tablet, i.e. Tegra 2. I use it on the Asus Tranformer and it works great. The biggest problem with Android platforms is the inability to distinguish incompatibilities of software on the market and this game has received negative reviews as a result, but I think it is one of the best Tegra 2 games I've tried so just make sure that is what you have. Also ignore the review saying to game doesn't include anything and you have to build everything from scratch. Obviously the reviewer never played the game, because there are built in routes and tracks to choose from. My only wish would be for more routes via download, or to be able to use other players content that they've created. I'm hoping they will add this in an update. Still the ability to create you own is quite a plus, and the tablet interface to do so is quite usable and well thought out. There are a few bugs to mention. There is one tutorial I was never able to finish because the alternate views (cab view, chase, etc) were disabled in the tutorial and there is a step that requires you to go to the map view and back to decouple the cars (which you can't because the other views are disabled). This was the most obvious I've found though, and others I haven't really noticed. So all-in-all, if you want a great portable version of Trainz and you have a Tegra 2 tablet, give this game a try. For the price it is well worth a download.
