What happens when you take one part "Twin Peaks", add another of "The X-Files", and then finish off with another part "The Killing", and place it in stunningly beautiful Tasmania? You get the Kettering Incident. This show is loaded with mysteries, only some of which will be answered by the end of Season one. This might irk some (read the reviews) but if you intend on having more than one season, you can't give it all away, can you? The writing in this is much better than "The Killing" which was more about going suspect by suspect (roughly one per episode) and eliminating them. After all, once you catch on--you know every single person they investigate prior to the last episode had absolutely nothing to do with the murder. The Kettering Incident instead wanders in and out of both paranormal, scientific, and tangible (the murder) questions that the viewer must navigate. If you like mysteries, you'll likely like this series.
