This review is for the package deal Stick Up Cam Solar plus the Solar Panel. Overall, meets my needs, happy with it. A few thoughts on it after about 1 month of use: - FWIW, I’m pretty new to Ring (installed Doorbell Pro a few days before installing stick up cam), so I’m not all that familiar wihh th product terminology - Example, the two items were split into two shipments, and the first thing that arrived Was the solar panel. The solar panel package says “Only for Spotlight Cam Battery,” with a picture of a different camera than the one I ordered in this package deal; this concerned me, so I chatted Amazon to confirm this panel would work with the camera I ordered...the Stick Up Cam Solar. The rep was trying to be helpful, but clear they didn’t understand my question, and couldn’t really help me out. So I decided just to wait until the camera arrived, and will see for myself - a couple days later, camera arrives... and it’s just called “Stick Up Cam Battery”, with no indication it works with a Solar Panel... - Libyans behold, the panel works just fine with the camera...I know it’s a new offering, but as new Ring customer, it was a bit confusing that the packages didn’t appear to be what I ordered, but at the end of the day, it was exactly what I thought i ordered once I got everything opened up and connected - camera works pretty well...seems not quite as advanced as the ring pro doorbell camera, as the motion detection zones are a lot more basic and less customizable, IMO. Motion detection works great at Close range near my back door where I have this set up, but hard to tell how well the motion detection works a little further away. My hope is this thing would detect someone at my fence line, but I don’t have that dialed in yet. - I’m happy with the night vision capability, obviously better at closer ranges as well. - I just tested the microphone the other day, sounds quality is “so so”, but I think it would be sufficient to communicate with someone at the back door if needed - so far, solar panel works great...it gets about 6hrs of direct sunlight per day, and best I can tell I’ve never seen the battery below 99% - the only thing that doesn’t appear good is the WiFi connection...I often see poor connection on the app, but I don’t really notice any performance problems. My house is pretty small, and actually this camera is closer to my WiFi router than my doorbell, and doorbell signal is excellent... so not sure what the deal is. But for now doesn’t look like a major problem, will continue to monitor.
