mostly as advertised
This is a pretty good little fan that works pretty much as advertised. Their runtime claims are a bit optimistic though. I charged it to full overnight and let it run on high until the battery died, and it lasted for 6 hours and 50 minutes.
Pass-through charging works - mostly. I watched it charge from 75% to 100% while the fan was running on high. It could not keep up and lost battery charge when the light and fan were both on high.
It uses USB-C but it does not appear to take advantage of higher voltages that the USB-PD standard offers - it always ran at 5v on all of my tests and with multiple PD compliant chargers and cables.
One of the pages in the instructions mentioned that it uses an 18650 cell, so that's nice to know that I'll be able to swap it out when the time comes. It looks like it should be possible to disassemble the fan to get to the cell but it might do some cosmetic damage to get in there.
I have a fancy USB multimeter thingy that tells exactly how much volts and amps it's drawing, so here's some tech specs that I collected:
450 mA - Battery charging current
350 mA - Fan on low
850 mA - Fan on hi
425 mA - Light on hi
1700 mA - Highest total current draw I was able to get the fan to pull from the wall charger
Overall it's a good deal and seems to be worth the money.
