This is my 2nd purchase of this litter box. The first is now 4 1/2 yrs. old and is still like new. It is a nice deep box and my 2 adult cats use it with no problems. The plastic seems to have a nice coating that makes the box easy to clean, and here I'm talking about a complete cleaning once or twice a year to remove dust, etc. It also helps in preventing wet litter from sticking to the bottom and sides on a daily basis, which is a problem I had with a previous litter box. I love the clips that fasten the top to the bottom as they are easy and quick to fasten and unfasten. That said, make sure that the top part is seated properly on the bottom part in order for the clips to function correctly. I scoop twice a day so often I don't even bother fastening the clips, and the top stays seated with no problem. I removed the plastic door and set it aside, although my cats didn't have a problem getting used to the door. I find just having the cover on contains the odor well enough. I would disagree with reviews that say the box is flimsy. I would say the plastic is a medium weight, not overly flimsy nor overly thick. Van Ness makes an extra large box, the CP7, for those that find this box is too small but I find it a perfect size for an adult cat while not taking up too much space. I paid $13 for the box that is 4 1/2 yrs. old and $10 for the new one. At those prices, I am totally satisfied with these litter boxes.
