Our kitchen sink is a steel split sink with two sides to it. One drain with a garbage disposal, the other with a non-disposal drain. The dripsie does NOT fit in our garbage disposal side, which is the side I bought it for. It's too big to fit in the drain. I was going to return it but then I tried it on the side without a disposal. It fits perfect on that side. So I decided to test it on that side. It works very well. So I'll keep using it for that side. (I did not measure before purchase). I just wish there was a slightly smaller version that would fit in our garbage disposal side. Notes: Rice can fit and stick in the drain holes. (if keeping rice out of your drain is your goal, try another strainer). It drains pretty well even with some rice blocking some holes. Most other debris seems to be caught just fine and still drains. Easy to clean out.
