I lovingly bought this for my German Shepard/Lab mix dog. Thunder, fireworks, loud noises, nothing seems to bother him. BUT, he is overly excited with everything and I have self diagnosed him with possible ADHD. He also constantly wants to be touching you. Researched items that might make him more comfortable and came across the Thundershirt. Figured it would be wroth a shot as he really enjoys touch and pressure. As soon as it arrived in the mail, I tried it out. At first he wasn't too sure what was going on and I didn't know what I was doing (as you can tell by his picture). Thankfully, he didn't seem to mind. Once we figured out what we were doing, he loved it! When I took it off him, he looked at me and then the Thundershirt until I put it back on him. Does he still have ADHD? Of course! Does I make sure he gets plenty of exercise and brain games? Obviously. I use this when nothing else will help him calm down or when he is extra needy for attention. Definitely a good investment for us! - Fabric is incredibly soft yet durable. It reminds me of those jersey sheets -The stretch makes is easy to vary the amount of pressure -There was no weird "packaging smell"
