This turns my torturous debilitating depressions from emotional pain into simply having no motivation. Still depressed, but free from the feeling that my life has been a waste, and that I'm a burden on my friends, and so on. Surprisingly, the mood stabilizers I've used for 23 years never helped with the pain, they only reduced the manic effects and modified my perceptions. This has changed the game for me. I tried it after coming across several articles about the linkage between bipolar and absence of the gene for metabolizing folic acid, which is a B vitamin related to "resilience". The enzyme produced by the gene turns folic acid into L-methylfolate. When manufactured, there apparently is an "M" version and an "L" version, of which the M is cheaper and the articles say is not effective. At my Whole Foods store, I checked the labels on all the brands of "folate" they had, and none specifically said "L-methyl", but bought two anyway, and also bought this from Amazon because it specifies "L-methyl" which the articles I read said was the effective version. In use, this was the only one of the three that worked, and did it ever work! I wish the improvement to my life upon everyone with similar feelings when depressed.. writing this review to help those of you out there still suffering.
