IF your beloved SNORES, BUY THESE!!!
I "sleep" next to a snoring mate. It has been a losing battle, one breeding epic insanity and resentment. If this is true for you, there is NO limit to what you would pay for a solid night of sleep in your own bed (we don't have a spare bedroom right now). I already have a gravity blanket and an awesome white noise machine (which is great at covering the pet and adult kid noises in the house, but not the chain saw next to me). So when the ad for these sleep buds showed up in my Prime stream, I thought could this be the solution????
No, they don't stream music from your phone, they are not regular headphones, you can get those for $30 at Target. These are designed for SLEEP. For the first time last night...I had perfect sleep. They WORK. It's basically white noise right in your ear, masking sounds. Can I still hear him? A little, but only if I'm already awake. The difference is he doesn't wake me up AND I CAN GO BACK TO SLEEP.
There is one trick: For the first three nights, I had what I now know as "pillow rubbing" noise (found it over on the Bose forums). The little plastic outer coating on the bud sticks to your pillow and makes a loud rubbing, creaking noise when you breathe, yes when you breathe. I tried 3 kinds of pillow cases and all three of the ear bud tips thinking I just didn't have them seated correctly. The forums revealed a super simple fix: stick a piece of duct or packing tape over the plastic part. Then pick the white noise that works for you (I DO hope they add more soon to the app) and go to sleep. I'm a side sleeper, these puppies do not come out and they are comfortable. You don't even have to set the volume up very high for the masking effect to work.
It is very much a one-trick pony, all they are good for is sleeping in the midst of noise. But it's an awesome trick.
