Easy to ride. Feels secure.
I'm 67 years old and hadn't ridden a bike in 20 years, then my son, who lives near a cycling trail, bought this bike for me. Sweet! I now have a new activity. This is my first experience with gears and hand brakes also. After a brief training time on a flat track, I was able to ride, and more importantly, enjoy the trail. I went for miles. This bike is great. I had it serviced at a bike shop before riding as instructed. I also bought a nice helmet from Walmart which was not a big expense.
The gears work smoothly, and as the rest of the world knows, are handy for even slight grades. Hand brakes are accessible and easy to use. Don't require a lot of strength. This bike is easy, easy, easy to get on and off of. I have a hip replacement and can't lift my leg too high. No problem. Also, when stopped, I can put my feet down flat on the pavement. I'm 5'6" and the seat is set at mid height.
The bike is strudy and doesn't feel like a lead sled as mentioned in another review. It folds nicely I to a little item that can easily be stored or transported. My son folded it for me, so I don't know how hard that is to do.
If you live near a trail or bike path, get this little gem. I think you'll really enjoy it!
