Great value
I'm very tech savvy. I'm a software developer for a major international company. That said, home networking is always a TERROR! You'd be amazed how many products are out on the market which are over-priced and have features disabled which shouldn't be. Finding and Access Point which can turn into a Bridge OR a Repeater is like finding a needle in a cliche, and this item does all three for a fraction of the cost.
I was also VERY surprised to see that it was a relatively easy setup. Most of these things require you to mess with your network settings in order to get into the device's settings to configure it as a Bridge or Repeater, and this one only requires you hook it to a computer and run a disk (both Ethernet cable and disk included in box).
If you need to run something wireless, or extend your wireless range, this is the product for you.
EDIT TO REVIEW (4/19/12):
I understand many people are having issues with setting up this device on their networks using the documented instructions which came with the device. I will attempt to outline what I ended up doing in order to help some people on their way:
1. Go into your computer's control panel and turn off your wireless connection. If not on wireless, make sure the computer is not hooked up to any other networks via Ethernet cable.
2. Hook Edimax device to computer using provided Cable and power on Edimax device.
3. While your device is hooked up to your computer, run the setup disk that came with the product.
4. Follow the Wizard's instructions.
Note: The default username for the device is "admin" and the default password is "1234".
From my experiences, it was not necessary to hook the device up to my router, first. It seems this is where a lot of install issues are coming from. Try the instructions above before hooking to router and see if it works. If you've already hooked to your router, first, do a hard reset by holding down the reset button on the device for a good 15 seconds.
EDIT TO REVIEW 1/28/13:
My son received Xbox Live for Christmas, so I needed another bridge for the house. Because I had luck with the first one and because these things are so inexpensive, I went ahead and bought two as I needed a bridge for my DirectTv box to get OnDemand as well. Both set up just as easily as the first one and both work great.
