Winds and unwinds easily, very light and easy to move, brass fittings, good water pressure.
I got frustrated with my crummy and useless old Teknor hose so I did a LOT research on hoses - thrilling work! There's a dizzying array marketing hooey out there for a product as banal as a garden hose so Caveat Emptor. I settled on this Hectors Hose due to it's light weight, brass fittings, low kink reputation, drinking water safety and ability to wind onto a reel with ease. All those features have proven true. I can pull this new hose off my Rapid Reel (Eley) without having to walk back into the garage and spool it off like I had to do with my old and useless Teknor hose. The water flow with the Hector Hose is excellent, I like the funky color and the brass fittings, NEVER, EVER buy a hose with aluminum fittings and I mean NEVER. Why? 99% of the hose bibs and 60% of the hose nozzles out there are brass, 20% of the other nozzles are plastic and the final 20% of nozzles are some sort of cheesy pot metal jokingly called "aluminum". Brass will corrode aluminum and the two metals will actually fuse together over time. No matter what sort of BS "spin" a hose company adds into their adverts or Amazon descriptions including "specially coated" or "Anodized aircraft aluminum ends" (that's a Flexilla specialty line) or other such marketing hogwash, it's all lies and nonsense. Aluminum hose ends are junk. Can I prove those allegations? Read the next paragraph. It took me 20 minutes to remove my solid brass Eley hose nozzle from the old aluminum Teknor hose fitting. It took Teflon penetrating oil, a large pair of locking pliers, a larger mechanics vise and a cheater bar to extricate the aluminum hose fitting. Hence my "NEVER, EVER" buy a hose with aluminum fittings advice. Check out my photos. The decroded looking silvery hose end is the aluminum one from my Teknor hose. The other photo has a black arrow that points out the machine crimped brass fitting on the new Hectors Hose. I thought about an Eley hose but $179 for a 100 foot hose seemed like a special kind of stupid to me so I passed and bought this Hectors Hose brand. Overall, the Hectors product as worked as advertised. If anything unusual occurs, I will report back. Hope that helps!
