I've used this container for 3 years and it has become a staple in my refrigerator. Every few weeks I wash romaine lettuce and leaf spinach and place it in the container separating the two different leafs with the divider that is included. I've read some of the 1 star reviews and they talked about how they followed the instructions and placed water in the bottom. I guess I never read the instructions because I don't put water in the bottom and my lettuce and spinach usually last approximately 2 weeks. My process is to cut and wash the leafy greens and then spin dry them. Then I place them in the container with the vent open. Any moisture seeps down to the bottom of the container through the vents preventing them from sitting in water and rotting early. Be careful using the dishwasher with this thing because I do have issues with the lid cracking, but I can still close the container. I recommend hand washing it. I've used this item (constantly washing and refilling) for a few years so I did not drop the rating on my review because of the lid. When it finally breaks I will purchase a new one.
