My water supply is from Lake Michigan--very hard water. I ordered the filter because chlorine and heavy metals are absorbed through the skin. After my first shower with the filter installed, I gently stroked my arm and could feel a big difference in skin softness. My hair is also softer after shampooing. What a difference for such a reasonable price! This shower filter is attractive and super easy to install. I'm a woman, not a "handyman," but I installed it in less than five minutes--including the time it took to read the simple instructions. (There are instructions for different shower heads and for hand-held showers.) No tools necessary. Unscrew the shower head, put one gasket in the filter and screw the female end to the pipe. Put the other gasket on the maler end and screw the shower head to the filter. Flush the carbon (from the filter) by running water a few seconds, and you're ready to shower. I also ordered the sealant tape, but it wasn't necessary. No leaks Buying the Geysa shower filter is one of the best things I've done for myself!
