I love the fan. I've only had it a few days and for the past couple of nights sleeping with it on, I've slept so good. It's the perfect sound and coolness to help me sleep. I can actually be sitting in my bedroom watching TV or reading, about to burn up and I turn the fan on and after a few minutes I find myself turning it back off because I'm chilly. It puts out quite a bit of air. I need to sleep cool or I wake up. This fits the bill. My goal was to get a fan so I could put the AC at a higher temp to save on my electric bill. I used to keep AC on 70 for a comfy sleep but now with the fan on me, I keep the AC on 75. The item arrived in the original retail box...no other packaging. I'm thinking maybe that is why my fan is rattling. Perhaps it got knocked around in shipping and something came loose. I don't know. I only hear the rattle when it oscillates to the left so I even hesitate to hassle with returning. Other than the rattle it's a great little fan. I'm loving the remote and being able to start/stop the fan without having to get out of the bed to reach it. I wrote to Holmes in case anyone is wondering and the only difference between this newer model and the prior model is that this model has cord storage on the back.
