Just because it goes up to 11 doesn't mean that is what you set it to.
OK, so you've owned Sony, Samsung, LG, and many other name brand products...so why would you trust a lesser known brand called Hisense? Well, to be honest, I only trusted Hisense because I was able to purchase the TV from Amazon. So I know that if the product was DOA or was just a poor performing TV, Amazon would be there to assist. Now, this is not a $2000 TV. This TV retails for 1/3rd of that, but it doesn't loose as much quality and performance as you would think. This TV performs great, as long as you are not the type of user that loves EVERY setting turned up to 11. If you keep things in the middle and pretty neutral, the TV will produce pretty accurate colors. With the Active Motion on medium (you know, the 120hz refresh rate thing...Hisense states that this TV is 120hz NATIVE, btw), it produces a smooth and not blurry picture. I would only recommend changing that setting to high if you are watching something in 4k, because 1080p with that on high does not look very natural. Let me geek out real quick... Netflix in 4k on this TV is FANTASTIC. Watching Marvel's Daredevil in 4k was worth the purchase. Also, the speed and performance of Netflix and other apps on the TV are extremely smooth and fast. I can't speak for the sound, since I am using a Yamaha receiver and 5.1 surround sound... sorry folks. The warranty... 4 years included. Yup, that is correct. If you register with Hisense within 3 months of your purchase, they double the warranty from 2 years to 4. Also, since the TV is over 50", the warranty includes in home service. So no need to ship this back when you have any HARDWARE issues. And if they cannot fix it in house right then and there, they would take the TV back to service to repair and maybe even replacement if it makes sense. This was a huge selling point...since most extended warranties that get you 4 years of coverage are over $100. In conclusion... if you are able to purchase this TV at a lower price in comparison to a larger name brand, DO IT! Save the money, because you are not really missing out on anything special with the big brands that are only slightly more expensive. Unless you love Spinal Tap and only keep your video settings at 11, you will most definitely enjoy the TV.
