My three-year-old son suffers from allergies. We’ve never had him officially tested, but he suffers from seasonal allergies and pet allergies. We have four kitties and one dog. My husband and I are also people who suffer with seasonal and pet allergies. We have put up with it for so long that we didn’t realize there was an answer as easy as an air filter, besides medication . I spent three hours researching air filters. And I ended up purchasing two different ones. I Purchased this one for my three-year-old’s room, and then we purchased a Hathaspace Air filter that does larger rooms for our living room/dining room/kitchen area. For the last month my husband and I had been kept up by our three-year-old coughing all night. We couldn’t figure out what was going on with him because he didn’t seem sick during the day. As soon as we lay him down at night he would cough all night long. My poor baby was exhausted, not to mention his parents. I am also a registered nurse and started to realize that the symptoms started after closing my house up for the winter. We live in Montana and usually have an early winter. Which usually starts in October but hit us in September this year. Our inside air is nothing but recirculated dust, pet dander, pet hair and all the day-to-day things that you can find in anyone’s home. I am a fanatic about cleaning, but it didn’t seem to help our allergy symptoms at all. Last night was the first night we used this air filter in my sons room. He went to bed without coughing he slept all night without coughing and I just couldn’t believe it. We all woke up much more rested and feeling much better about the air he’s breathing. I’ve just hooked up the Hathaspace this morning as it was just delivered. I’m looking forward to see how all of our symptoms hopefully improve throughout the house. I will definitely be purchasing two more of these units one for our room and one for my older sons room. It has three fan levels none of which are too obnoxious. The highest speed of the fan I would say is a little noisier than what I expected, but it doesn’t seem to bother anybody. The night mode is perfect you can’t even hear it running and it has a gentle blue nightlight on the top that is not a deterrent for sleep. It did leave a mild odor in the room that reminded me of newness, it wasn’t plastic it wasn’t a chemical smell it was just kind of a fresh new smell. This morning I don’t notice an order at all other than his room smelling fresh. The filter replacements are reasonably price I have not had to change the filter yet but I did take a dry run to see how difficult it was just to change and it’s as simple as popping off the bottom and removing the filter and sliding the new one in. Very simple to operate. After painstakingly reviewing many many models of air purifiers I finally did settle on this one for my son’s bedroom and will probably be buying two more units for the other bedrooms.
