I bought them solely based on price at the time and figured it wouldn't be an issue if something happened to them. They have been standing the test of time ever since that purchase. I use them a few times per week, but with bands rather than cables as I workout at home. They do seem like they would fray , or the metal links would break off, but have yet to come close. I do think they could be padded a little more with a softer material for more comfort, but have really enjoyed these overall.
