Not magic... but close.
Ok. Let's set the level of expectations here. This product will NOT magically fix oil leaks or reformulate the chemistry of your engine with magic snake oil. It is just an engine component cleaner,... but it seems to be a very good one. My 1997 Camaro has just a hair under 240,000 miles on it. I keep it very well maintained and have never had to do any substantial engine work. A few months ago, my check engine light came one. I used my code reader to pull up a catalytic converter code usually indicating that the Cat, my O2 sensors, or all of the above are ready for the scrap heap. My wallet and I didn't like that option. Before I go any further, let's take a second to explain what a catalytic converter actually does. A catalytic converter is a catalyst bed that initiates a chemical reaction that converts unburned hydrocarbons in your exhaust system into COx and water without actually participating the in reaction itself. (This is why it is called a catalytic converter). Unfortunately, the heat of the reaction also causes N2 molecules in the air to oxidize and produce NOx. So, a properly functioning catalytic converter must be appropriately sized to heat itself to the right temperature to "light off" the right amount of unburned hydrocarbons without getting too hot. Proper heating actually makes the converter "self cleaning, " burning off normal build-up as it runs. So, a properly maintained catalytic converter SHOULD run forever. However, real life has a way of getting in the way. Engine parts foul, crack, leak, and get carbon build-up. This allows unburned gas, engine oil, or even coolant to enter the exhaust system and deposit loads of crud into/onto the emissions hardware, such as the O2 sensors and the tiny air passages within the cat. Fouled O2 sensors now cannot make proper measurements, so the engine's computer cannot properly tune the combustion process, which causes the engine to run too rich or too lean. The catalytic converter's passages also begin to clog up, forcing the remaining passages to overheat, which causes the converter to produce too much NOx and eventually melt itself from the inside out, killing the cat. Since I had no other mechanical issues with the engine, I decided to try G2P which simply introduces powerful cleaners that remove buildup from otherwise good engine components, allowing them to work properly again. It's that simple. And... it seems to have worked! I cleared the check engine light after about a quarter tank and it never came back. Even better, the engine seems smoother and more responsive. So, to be clear, if your car has something that is really, really broken, this product probably will not help. However, if your car is like mine, where everything works, but years of iffy fuel and carbon build up have finally caught up to you, give it a try. It's a lot cheaper than the alternative.
