Absolutely love these contigo straw thermoses. My son is almost 2 and has been using them since about the age of 1. The only problem is that they do not disassemble completely nor easily for a deep clean. I have been using the small straw cleaners and bottle brushes successfully. But then yesterday I began to question the type of moisture and mold that can get stuck in between the silicone and plastic. And this is what I discovered after I used a flathead screwdriver to pry open the parts, which was very difficult to do. I'm placing all small parts in a basket in the dishwasher. I'm hopeful that it'll clean thoroughly and that I can reassemble! I'll probably plan to do a deep cleaning once a week on all my bottles. Otherwise it's fantastic and completely spill proof. My son can easily handle it, carry around, open/close and drink out of it.
