100% Pure Sodium Bentonite from this seller -- Buy it and you will not be sorry -- MANY uses --- Excellent buy
I didn't jump to write my review immediately because I wanted to give this product a real chance. And I'm glad I did. After 20 some odd years of buying high end hair and skin care products I honestly didn't think I would get the results promised. The Indian 100% pure sodium bentonite Indian healing clay delivered, for me, on what it promised. First, let's note that this comes in a powder form. You need to mix with water at a 3:1 ratio. The directions, as far as I can see, do not say how much to use, not even an estimate, to get a facial mask. I started with 1 Tablespoon of powder to 3 Tablespoons of water. I mixed this with a regular spoon and could not get it smooth. I added 2 more Tablespoons of water and it was still kind of chunky but I could get it on my face. This ratio made a LOT of facial mask. After applying to my face I also applied it to my elbow and hands and left it on the amount of time it said for regular skin instead of sensitive skin. I wanted to see what would happen as I do have sensitive skin and I wanted to be able to give a review from using it both ways. If you have sensitive skin or even suspect you have sensitive skin, follow the time allotment for sensitive skin! The bentonite clay is powerful. The first time I used it and then rinsed my face, first with warm water and then with cool water, my skin was irritated with significant redness. THIS is NOT the fault of the product! Please note that! I wanted to see what results *I* would get. Also, immediately a blemish popped up on my face. This is to be expected. The bentonite clay is meant to pull toxins OUT of your skin. If you have a lot of environmental or chemical toxins in your skin this may happen over several uses. Therefore I recommend that when you use the mask once a week you do so on a day when you do not need to be somewhere important the next couple of days. The blemishes/pimples are going to come out, this is the intention of this product! I had more of the mask leftover after applying to my face, hands and elbows so I put it in my foot soak with some hot water and rubbed it all over my feet and let them soak about 30 minutes. I have very rough skin on the bottom of my feet and pumice every other day. After just two treatments with the bentonite clay I find I only need to pumice once a week. All I did was apply some of the mask I made up to the bottom of my feet. I filled my foot soak basin with hot water, as hot as I can stand. I mixed in another tablespoon of clay into the water and then plunged my feet in and let them soak. After 30 minutes I rinsed my feet and used my pumice stone. I rinsed again and then applied coconut oil and slipped my feet into white cotton socks for the night. My hands -- I'm over 40 and my hands are getting a wrinkly "old lady" look to them. After using the clay on them for 2 weeks they are starting to look less wrinkly. My elbows -- the skin on my elbows during the winter months is coarse, scaly and dry. After using the clay on them for 2 weeks they are starting to look less scaly the skin isn't quite so coarse and they are not so dry. My face and neck -- my skin is clear. The second time I used the mask I used it the amount of time suggested for sensitive skin. No redness or irritation at all. I rinse my face first using a soft white cotton washcloth and warm water and then splash with cool water. The 2nd time I used the clay I did have a blemish pop out in the exact same spot as the first. The third time no blemish. My skin feels soft and I noticed that the dark circles under my eyes are dramatically reduced after the third use. I don't know if this is typical, but it happened for me. After reading more and more about Bentonite Clay I decided to use it on my hair. I washed my hair with my regular biotin shampoo and then I sprinkled the powdered clay directly into my hair, perhaps 2 Tablespoons (my hair is chin length) and worked it around all the way into the roots and gently combed it through. I let it sit about 10 minutes then rinsed and washed my hair again with the biotin shampoo. After rinsing well with warm water I towel dried my hair and applied my weekly keratin treatment. I have color treated hair and it did not pull out the color and my scalp felt great after the treatment. The next week I had my appointment to touch up my roots and the color took faster than usual. Whatever toxins or build up was in my hair and scalp were pulled out. I seem to need less shampoo to wash my hair and less conditioner after washing. You do NOT need a lot of clay to make the facial mask or to use in the other ways I have used it. A tablespoon mixed on more of a 4:1 ratio with water is probably more what you are looking for. It doesn't mix easily and it probably won't be completely smooth unless you have a specific cosmetic tool to achieve that result. But don't worry about that. The product works. Play around with the clay to water ratio a bit to achieve the desired consistency you think it should be as there really is no exact way it should be. I highly recommend the Indian Bentonite Clay from this seller. It went above and beyond any expectations I may have had and above and beyond any other similar products I have used in the past. I have spent thousands of dollars over the years on products for my hair and skin and this one is by far one I will use over and over again. I hope I have not bored you with this review. I hope it was informative and helps you to use our purchase of bentonite clay to its best possible advantage for you. I liked it so much I bought some for my mother. ***I received a sample of this product (either free or at a discounted price) in exchange for my honest review. All opinions stated are that of my own and have in no way been swayed.***
