I own too much of this kinda stuff.
I bought one of these the other day at a local retail store because I do that. I see this AS SEEN ON TV stuff and I go "Oh, that's neat. I wonder if it actually works". This one isn't horrid. I paid $12 bucks for it in a store so don't bother buying it here apparently. Is it the brightest? No. Is it the cheapest? No. But being an owner of WAY too many touch lights, IR LED bars, motion lights, fancy night lights, da da da da duh, I have learned that brighter products either use larger size/number of batteries, are rechargeable = expensive by comparison, or just plain burn through batteries faster. Cheaper...well, you're on your own there for those opinions. Look, it's motion sensing as well as light sensing so it won't go off when the lights are on, yay. It tilts and swivels in its base, yay. For the money and the convenience of using AA batteries, not D like another product that another customer talked about, I'm not gonna give it too much flak. It does work best in light colored areas; laundry rooms, bathrooms, closets, stairways - yes, and maybe garages in multiples. This is not a porch light. You want this for outside, accept the fact that you're paying less than $20 for it and its gonna have to be mounted at knee level. I posted a picture of the light mounted in my basement bathroom for real world demonstration.
