While the lint was far more than expected, the blanket went through two washes and one delicate dry. I show the pictures of the lint not to scare anybody away, but to prepare one for when it's first washed. The other two pictures are after washing it. The big pieces were pulled out of the dryer screen and the smaller pieces came from both the washer and drier. The petroleum smell when I first got this item was not nearly as pronounced as described in other reviews, and by the time the blanket was washed and dried, I only noticed the smell was still barely there because I knew it came with a slight odor and was looking for one after washing. I could have used a dryer sheet and probably not even noticed any smell. The blanket seems to be of really good quality and is a bit fluffier after being laundered. While it is not flannel, it is relatively soft and not scratchy. After laundering there was no pilling and the stitching around the border is still in place. I have not used it a lot, so I cannot give it 5 stars yet. For the price and apparent quality, I would purchase again. I paid full pop for this item, so you have my fully biased opinion.
