This is Lian Dolan's third novel and they just keep getting better. The sisters, daughters of a literary lion, whose death, puts the plot in motion, are sympathetic yet flawed in the most human ways-also kind in a way I think we all seek to be. The setting of Southport, Connecticut may have drawn me in more than others in that, not quite my world growing up, pretty darn close. This was the perfect read for me right now where I could escape to another place and, although contemporary, time.
