I love this item. It is easy to use and I like how it is able to straighten my hair with one pass through (after air drying my hair first) and my hair is soft and shiny. It is able to blow dry and straighten but if you do not want to use alot of heat on your hair I would suggest letting your hair air dry first then using the item.
