My trusty friend, a plastic Light My Fire spork, passed away last year. He lost a terrible fight with a particularly heavy textbook that took place in my backpack one day. We had spent so many happy times together--in the Tetons, on the Appalachian Trail, and countless packed lunches in college. I mourned for an appropriate amount of time, and then I bought this as a replacement. So far, it's wonderful. I think we've been together long enough to say that it's past the honeymoon phase. It has the same functionality of my previous spork, with the added bonus of being a little less prone to breaking in half (and thus breaking my heart). We climbed Mount Olympus together. I really think this spork is The One, you know? I think I found my sporkmate! Edit: Aug. 2015. Two beautiful years together. Still going strong. Edit: Aug. 2017. Wow, time flies! From exciting trips to everyday packed lunches, there's still a spark between me and my spork. I can't believe we've lasted this long (mostly just surprised that I haven't lost it -- still sturdy and looks as good as new). This year, I'm bringing the spork home for the holidays so my mom stops trying to set me up with people.
