I had no idea what to expect for I’ve never purchased a product like this before now. Based on some of the reviews I didn’t expect the scent to last longer than a day, but I found the scent to be very long-lasting! I had sprayed them only lightly (two to three pumps from a distance and brushed it in) several days before visiting my sister and out of the blue she commented that my dogs smelled really nice. I had forgotten about their “pawfume” but was pleasantly surprised others could detect it four (or more) days after application. I can always detect it, even faintly- and it’s absolutely pleasing to the senses. I don’t know what fragrance to compare it to. It reminds me more of a designer fragrance for men - it has a masculine scent to me - but would be ideal for male or female dogs. It’s just perfect. If you want a dog fragrance that is long lasting, helps clean and shine the coat, is not sweet smelling (I think that’d be weird on a dog), and is used by people who show dogs (because it helps shine the coat and this scent is universally pleasing) - then this is what you’re looking for. I took a chance and I couldn’t be happier. My dogs tolerate it well and they look forward to getting pawfumed because they enjoy getting brushed (which is something I do after spraying them) and they get even more cuddles than before because they smell so freaking good! Trust a stranger with ragamuffin-looking dogs on this one. It’s incredible. I will definitely buy this product again. No question.
