After having several "bottle" hummingbird feeders that would leak and attract bees, wasps and ants, we decided to give this design a try. I am very happy with it so far! I have not detected any leaks yet, even in this 100-degree weather we are having. Also, there have been no bees swarming it, like they do the other feeders we have. A couple have checked it out, but moved on, since there is no leakage from the seams. This is obviously due to the design, with the nectar being below the seams/feeding holes, instead of inverted like other feeders. There is an ant moat that catches ants, but in this 100+ weather, it evaporates rather quickly. I have found only a few random ants floating inside, compared to the tons we have inside our other feeders. And, so far, our 3-4 hummingbirds we get each year love it! We have 5 different feeders around our yard, and this one seems to be the favorite since we put it up last week! They use the perch as well, so that helps them feed longer. I would definitely recommend this feeder over ones with an upside-down bottle design. This one beats those out on every level!
