I also know that cheap cables have a lot of loss. Have you ever tried to charge a device and have it take forever with a long cable? This is why. Cheap cables use skinny wire to save money. The cable gets warm, and your hardware doesn't charge. These cables, however, are quite nice. I am constantly charging a large, external battery. I replaced a shorter, generic cable with one of these last night. The charging current when up by 10%. from 1.3A to 1.43A. It was quite obvious. The cables are protected but not so stiff that they are hard to coil up for your travel kit. I'd buy these again in heartbeat. Don't worry about being a three pack. Keep one in your carry on, one on your desk, and another near the couch.
