Bought this for our soft sided intex pool (10ft by 30in) because the pump that came with it was absolutely worthless. Was constantly adding chemicals after chemicals and the pump was doing a poor job of filtering the water. Said F it and since we will be using this intex pool for as many summers as we can get out of it, we need to upgrade the pump. Got this and it was pretty dang easy to swap the pumps. Simply take a few tubes away and add a few. That was really about it. As another reviewer mentioned (thank god) if you have a smaller intex pool you will likely need a pair of intex 1.25" to 1.5" hose adapters since the hoses for this pump are bigger. You will only need these adapters I mentioned if you are upgrading from a low flow pump system (1000 GPH or smaller) to a larger pump system (1500 GPH or larger). This pump is a HUGE upgrade quality wise and from how many GPH our old pump filtered (i think it was 220 GPH). This one kinda makes our pool look like a little jacuzzi when it's running but I love it lol. Much clearer water, less chemicals to add to keep the levels normal. Definitely a good buy.
