I deliberated for months over whether or not to spend 30 bucks on something I was already doing with a sheet pan, dishtowel, and five pound weight plate. That method works well enough, but it makes more laundry, and it takes up more space. I finally bought this in an effort to streamline my kitchen a bit more. I *really* regret spending the $30.00. I didn't even get one use out of it. The first time I tried, when I went to move the handles down, the bracket that holds it into place snapped off and flew through the air. Now my tofu is wrapped in a dishtowel, being pressed under a weight plate, and I'm out 30 bucks. :( Updated 6/6/2017: I emailed the manufacturer and told them what had happened. They responded immediately and very courteously. The customer service was top notch. I got a replacement in the mail super quickly. I think it was only two days. It might have been three. It was *fast*. I tried it out today. It worked like a charm. That was the easiest, and quickest, I've ever pressed tofu, and my General Tso's Tofu was just amazing. It looks like the breakage was an anomaly, and I'm glad, because if this holds up, it will become an invaluable part of my food prep routine.
