East coast essential. It's that good.
Having never ridden a longboard (or even anything other than a bicycle), I was reluctant to purchase a Boosted. However, in May I took the plunge and received my board in June. I immediately started riding it and found that it was incredibly easy! I use it as my main form of transport and have been able to get 8-10 miles of range on mixed terrain and with a weight of 140 lbs on "expert." As of today, I have logged 440 miles on my board and am shocked at how reliable and fun it is. There are a few things you need to know about it:
- The board is very flexible and the wheels are wide which makes it ride extremely smooth, even on NYC and NJ broken roadways
- Depending on location, the drive belts will need to be replaced every couple hundred miles; here in NYC/NJ I change mine every 200 miles and the brand to buy is ROMP 225-3M (or the Boosted ones)
- I haven't had to perform any service beyond the belts, but I do recommend buying an extra set of things before you need them since Boosted tends to run on low stock 24/7
- Buy a 3mm Hextip T-handle tool for repairing/replacing parts on the board
- If you plan on riding at night or in darker areas, buy a set of shredlights brand lights (these are specifically designed for the Boosted Board)
- Don't forget board shoes!
I've attached the things I've purchased to use with my board that I've mentioned (that are available on Amazon). I also have attached a link to a carrying case, hooks (for wall mounting), and a stand (if you don't want to wall mount). For the lights, just search for shred lights and be sure to get the Boosted bracket!
